Lemons to Lemonade: Squeezing Opportunities Out of Adversity When Business Goes Sour

The fallout from COVID-19 will continue for the foreseeable future.

Our brand-new virtual team building simulation guides your team through the process of transforming your business to thrive during a time of turbulence and uncertainty.

In Jamaica the beverage will be lime squash, rum punch, or limeade. Until COVID-19 has been contained, there will be no hands-on mixology. Instead, a professional mixologist will bring the teams’ creations to life.

Bespoke

Custom Crafted, Bespoke Team Building

If none of our existing simulations “hit the mark”, rest assured, our capabilities extend to custom designing an approach to address your organization’s specific needs.

Simulations in Jamaica can include market challenges, creating and recording reggae music or African Jamaica drumming, initiatives to help local communities, projects to help schools, raft building to help river raft captains, construction, gardening, and much more.

If your organization requires more intensive support, we provide long term consulting and facilitate on-site, brainstorming, and problem-solving sessions.

Need a custom curated business simulation, executive retreat, or team building?

Many of our team building simulations began as off-the-beaten-track executive retreats to inspire discerning clients.

Our owner, Anne Thornley-Brown, specialized in instructional design for many years so we have the capability to design and create custom curated experiences to fit your specifications.

Give us your:

  • dream experience
  • objectives

Visexecutaries = Visionary Executives

Visexecutaries: Seizing Opportunities in our Shifting Corporate Landscape is an Apprentice inspired team building simulation for times of turbulence, change and uncertainty.

This powerful business simulation was initially designed as a response to the economic fallout from SARS in Asia and Toronto.

Teams design and launch an actual product or service.

In Jamaica challenges can involve coaching market vendors, raft building, designing and launching guerilla marketing initiatives.

Teams meet in the boardroom to present their strategy and results. Best practices are highlighted and prizes are awarded but nobody gets fired.

Coca Cola’s Smile Back Jamaica campaign is a perfect example of guerilla marketing combined with a viral video. All it took was a bike, a backpack, and product

Make your Own DVD

Make Your Own CD/DVD Team Building

During this team building simulation, your team will take over a recording studio. We’ll guide your teams as they create songs, and record a new CD. We can put the musicians on your team to work.

In Jamaica, your team can stay at a boutique hotel with a real recording studio where reggae hits have been created and Rihanna, Drake, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, and John Legend.

We can bring in a videographer to create an accompanying DVD.

The brainstorming techniques you use will then be applied to generate solutions to your own business challenges.

Country Profile – Jamaica Team Building

A Quick Glimpse at Jamaica

After 6 years of solid economic and 5 years stock market growth, COVID-19 was a US$2 billion hit to the Jamaican economy. The closing of the border for 3 months derailed the tourist and entertainment industries which are huge money earners for Jamaica.

During the pandemic, Jamaican entertainers who could not tour uplifted the spirits of the world’s population through a series of virtual concerts.

This is an example of the resilience of the Jamaican people. Jamaica has also helped to fill gaps in the global supply chain by manufacturing PPE, ventilators, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper.

Jamaica, which has just undergone a general election, is poised for growth.

Visitors to Jamaica must apply for authorization via the JamCOVID app and stay at an approved hotel in the resilient corridor from Negril to Port Antonio. Only approved attractions within the resilient corridor can be visited.

Authorization for travel to Jamaica is Required

…amid the deepest slump in decades…the pandemic torpedoed one of the biggest success stories in emerging markets.

Not a day goes by that I don’t rave about what I saw and learned about Jamaica during the motorcycle tour. I got a real feel for the people and life on the island. My time at the resort was relaxing and awesome too. But clearly, that’s not the real Jamaica. 🙂
