Arctic Survival: Stranded in Snow Country is a Survivor team building simulation for executive retreats. This team building simulation will enhance team and organizational performance through a proven process. We draw parallels between the arctic exploration theme and exploring uncharted territory in the business world.
A variety of business exercises and recreational activities will introduce you and your team to strategies and a toolkit that you can use on an on-going basis to improve processes and fine-tune your corporate, marketing and sales strategy.
Nobody gets voted off!
For other business simulations available in Canada and globally, please also see "International Team Building" (on the side menu).

We have teamed up with a lodge in Haliburton where teams of up to 12 people can have exclusive use of the 5000 acre retreat for the duration of their stay. We have another venue that can accommodate teams of up to 15 people on an exclusive use basis. Finally, there is a 3rd location in Haliburton that can accommodate up to 27 people. Book well in advance and be prepared to be flexible with your dates.
""We had the pleasure of having Ms. Thornley-Brown assist us in developing an Arctic Simulation experience for 35 members of our team. Through the lead up to the event, Anne made herself available for discussion, planning and brain-storming. She was able to put together an effective, tailored package which aligned very well with our key challenges. Anne facilitated the sessions and empowered us to find unique and effective solutions within a collaborative environment. Thanks Anne!"
David Peterson, Executive Director, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada
"I believe mixing the different levels of employees was critical to the success of the activities and projects. All energizers and immunity challenges were excellent. I plan to encourage my staff to more freely. The mind maps encourage equal participation from all."
Chris Goodwin, Store Manager, Mister Safety Shoes
Anne Thornley-Brown, our owner, was interviewed on CBC Radio 1's "The House" on the Saturday, December 6, 2008 broadcast.
If you missed it, you can listen to the podcast. You can hear Anne around the 30:00 remark, right after Harper's comments about trust building :
Important: To offer this team building retreat with the name Survivor and include elements from the show, we will have to collect royalty charges from you and pass them on to CBS, Disney or Touchstone depending on your location.
For Serious Inquiries Only
We would be pleased to handle your inquiry, check availability of dates and venues and send a proposal if:
you are looking for business team building with a facilitator & not just recreation
a budget has been allocated
you have an approximate idea of how many people will be attending
you are definitely ready to select and book a service provider within 5 - 10 business days of receiving our quote
We will get back to you with a quote within 48 hours to 5 business days of receiving your request.
We require a $500 retainer before detailed, customized agendas are developed and any hotels or other venues are contacted on your behalf. [Why?] This will be deducted from your fees if you book your session with us.
If you aren't in a position to select a service provider and book your retreat, team building session or event within 5 - 10 business days of receiving our quote, we invite you to explore our website. You will find information about our services and pricing on our website. When you are in a position to make a decision and select a service provider, please contact us.
We are based in Toronto, Canada. We regularly travel to other parts of Canada to deliver team building retreats.
We require 1 night's accommodation prior to your retreat so that we can finalize all logistics with the venue and set-up for your arrival. If we are driving to destinations more than 2 hours from Toronto, we require transportation or an additional night of accommodation after your retreat is over so that we can avoid night and winter driving after a full day of facilitation.
If your team is already familiar with these tools and using them on a regular basis, we can substitute with other tools. Alternatively, we can make the team building exercises process focused rather than tool focused. This will involve additional costs as we will require one observer/assistant facilitator per team to observe and provide feedback about group dynamics during team challenges.
"Thank you Anne for keeping me motivated throughout the conference. I will use the tools (e.g. mind maps, force field analysis, storyboards, flow charts). as everyday problem solving techniques."
Celeste Thompson, Store Manager, Mister Safety Shoes

We are an executive consulting firm with expertise in the design and facilitation of business simulations.
We bundle our expert business facilitation with recreational activities and team challenges flawlessly executed in collaboration with our global network of local alliance partners. We provide the business facilitation and event planning services. Our alliance partners provide the recreation, transfers, and ground logistics based on our specifications.
You can select from:
a team building simulation or executive retreat
a customized package bundling our expert team building facilitation with hotel, meeting space, transportation, recreational activities, a reception, themed dinner, and entertainment.
What we Don't Offer
If you are looking for detailed and rigourous analytical tools and complex financial models, our approach would not be a good fit for you. Our focus is on innovation and using tools that will help executives from fast-paced organizations get a view of the lay of the land to determine priorities, expedite decision making and engage in course correction to keep abreast of marketplace developments. We'll help you identify obstacles, challenges, and opportunities so that you can chart your course when action is needed.
We are a consulting firm specializing in facilitated business team building simulations. We offer our team building programmes at stunning locations worldwide but we are not a travel agent. Our business team building simulations incorporate recreational activities but recreation is not our speciality. Our retreats usually have a gala dinner or a night of entertainment but we are not an entertainment company.
Please note that we do not specialize in strictly recreational events for small teams.
We do offer a luxury dog sledding mini-getaway in the Muskokas or Mont Tremblant that is avaiable with our without business facilitation.
